Literature Text

One day, I brought my Silly Putty to school, but Mrs. Dekalb saw me taking it out of my backpack, so she took it away [into her office].  [The next day] I brought more to school, but then she put those on her [office] desk [too].  As the days went by, Mrs. Dekalb had 21 Silly Putty eggs on her [office] desk.

Then a kid got in trouble and [so he] was forced to go in her office, where he found the Silly Putty.  He mixed all of the 21 eggs together.  The more Silly Putty I brought to school, the more Silly Putty was on her desk.  And the more the kid got in trouble, the more the glob got bigger.  Soon, the glob of Silly Putty was 74 inches off the ground.

This time, a student brought his remote-controlled army tank [to school, and it was] taken and put into the office.  The kid got in trouble again [and was sent to the office, where] he put the Silly Putty onto the army tank, and the putty hardened up.  He hid the new toy and pretended to be bored.

The next day, Mrs. Dekalb walked into her office, she stepped on the remote to the army tank [without realizing it].  The kid purposely got in trouble again, and [once in the office] he grabbed the remote and tried to make the monster go out of the office, but the remote didn't work.  [Frustrated,] he threw it on the ground.  The [Silly Putty-covered] army tank [suddenly] swirled around and charged through the door, shooting toy darts at everybody.

[And that is why Mrs. Dekalb shouldn't take away our toys.]
This one was actually written when I was in fourth grade.  I only know this because it was my fourth-grade teacher's name that was written in the story, albeit misspelled.  I guess I got the dates wrong.  *shrug*

Again, I typed it here the same way it was written in my journal from that grade, with the modern additions written within brackets.

The story wasn't finished, since I only had so much time to write before the subject in class changed, so I added the last sentence after I finished copying the story.  It makes an excellent conclusion to it, if I may say so myself.  ;3

Ah, Silly Putty.  I wrote this because I DID have a lot of Silly Putty at that time, and it was very fun to put it on newspaper and see it pick up the ink from the pictures printed on it.  Playing with that stuff never grew boring. ;w;
