Be Happy When There's No Reason to be OtherwiseAfter the bad has left my life
the good has come back quite contrite
But every good has an evil side
and it shows itself from time to time
though usually it likes to hide
until someone tells another lie
'cause then it will come out to play,
to tear apart a perfect day,
replace all of our pleasures with pain..
Fight as you will, it won't leave
your struggle only gives it glee
and when you close your eyes to sleep
it shows itself within your dreams
Really, there is no escape,
there's never been another way.
To try to fight would be in vain
so endure it 'til it goes away
And after it has disappeared,
enjoy the time it isn't here.
This Battle I've WonI used to be weak, selfish and wrong
I knew this, but I couldn't stop
because I thought--for sure--I'm right
but that just lead to countless fights.
So I told myself I'd walk away
and live my life another day
without you being in my way
'cause you've already had a say
Though it was spoken silently,
and probably was not for me
but your words, I heard them anyway
and so I decided to go away
For so long this endless war went on
I knew I could stay with you not
But our past, it just fought and fought,
unwilling to give up the times we've lost
Then, this battle, I've finally won
And at last, in this dark, shines down, the sun
My eyes are open, I can see
That without you, I am finally free.
Her CatalystAs she walks through the maelstrom, the words trace upon the tips of her fingers and press into the stone. Every brick, every crack in the concrete, every crossed and angular stroke in reds and blacks and oranges. The drips of the gasoline pool around the base of her boots, slosh as she steps over the burst pipes and the rubble.
So much rubble. So little outcry. The silence of the city grates on her eardrums and the mantras she'd been forced to memorize. The Seers demanded they observe thirteen years of recitation before they attempt to weave their first World together.
But who other than the Seers can claim the incantations that knot the skeins they twist and pull on like reins hold fast? When have any of the Sisters recorded the visions they traced upon space-time and recited them, left them open for critique and discussion and debate?
Which is why she walks through the chalky soot of the smashed city around her. This all
